C.J. Dexter is a multidisciplinary literary artist whose body of work refuses easy categorization. His creative life spans writing, performance, and cultural advocacy, woven together with an instinctive sense for narrative and social impact. He began publishing at fourteen, setting the foundation for a career defined by both early promise and sustained evolution.
He later founded The Sip underneath the parent company, Dexter Media Group. The Sip was a digital platform that quickly built a devoted readership through its blend of news, business, lifestyle, and spiritual commentary. Within a year, the publication had grown to 24,000 subscribers and a network of 32 contributors—an achievement that underscored Dexter’s editorial insight and ability to cultivate community.
Dexter’s voice in the performing arts emerged with Evergreen, a bold and emotionally charged stageplay that left its mark on Atlanta’s theater scene. It affirmed his skill as a storyteller and introduced him to broader audiences, eventually leading to a personal invitation from Arianna Huffington to contribute to the Huffington Post. His work and presence have since carried him to stages throughout the United States and Europe.
As an educator and lecturer, Dexter continues to expand his reach. He is recognized for his commitment to helping writers and leaders harness the transformative power of creative expression—not only as a personal pursuit but as a vehicle for social change. Through workshops, live university lectures, public conversations, and curated literary events, he encourages emerging artists to treat their craft as both mirror and catalyst.
To date, Dexter has published seven books, alongside essays and articles that further establish his voice as both intimate and incisive. His work appears across major platforms, including Harvard, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and other notable venues.
His latest release, The Flight of the Sparrow, gathers selected works from across the years, offering new poems and expanded material that together chart the evolution of his artistic vision.
